Led the effort and 15-person team to dramatically improve content discovery for learners and L&D teams by:

  • Championing an experiment-led product development to enable data-informed culture and decision making
  • Completing the Elastic Search migration and implementing a hybrid search model leveraging both semantic and keyword-based search
  • Developing a suite of LLM-powered features aimed to change the way L&D teams use Go1 to find and curate content

Led the effort to evolve towards a holistic customer experience and how might we get one step closer to product-led growth. This involves looking at:

  • How our customers engage with Pantheon from their very first brand exposure to their nth visit
  • How our data ecosystem fulfills our need to be a data-informed company and an data insights enabler for our customers

Lead Product Manager, Search & Recommendations

Led the 55-person team responsible for the foundational growth & health of Upwork’s core Marketplace product (’21 Q1 revenue grew 40% YoY to $108M).

  • Product strategy and roadmap owner for all search & recommendations
  • Eliminated ML + UX silos by establishing a holistic product strategy and “one team” work model across data science, design, UXR, and ML & app eng

Lead Product Manager, Acquisition & Onboarding

Jul 2017 — Jul 2020 @ UPWORK

Transitioned into a product role as a Sr. CRO Manager, then promoted to Sr. PM in Sep ’18 and Lead PM in Feb ’19.

Led the 33-person team responsible for all top of the funnel growth from organic traffic to activation, including owning of all logged out pages, including Upwork homepage, paid acquisition pages, and SEO pages.

Built a product-led acquisition engine by influencing five workstream reprioritizations to rebuild SEO foundations (addressed duplicate content, structured data, chain redirects, URL structure), creating “Webflow as a page builder” to spin up landing pages with minimal eng, and piloting in-house tools to manage keywords, bidding (SEM), and redirects.


Program Manager, Freelancer Marketing

Sep 2016 — Jul 2017 @ UPWORK

Moved into hybrid Marketing-Operations role after the company’s full funding of the staffing incubation project, Upwork Pro (now Talent Scout).

Went from zero to team of 10 full-time contractors processing and interviewing ~10k freelancers/wk, plus designing custom skill assessments with Interviewed (now SimplyHired). Self-taught and built full lifecycle programs to automate talent engagement. See the outcome in the press.

Started as a Category Development Associate and promoted to a Category Management Analyst in Oct ’14.

  • Contributed to +46% YoY growth in Admin and Customer Support categories by internal campaigning of new opportunities and creating sales enablement programs.
  • Part of founding member of internal incubation initiative, Upwork Pro, to create a new line of business that matches client with vetted talent.
